shooting reinterpretation III

Got a good smooth squeeze on the trigger and shot
adrenaline was going and I felt good.
In response to Sarah's poster about the hunting of rhinos, a project in Krzysztof Lenk's class, I utilized her line text with double exposure and framing techniques to evoke shooting the horizon. Both the masking and the cutting apart serve as metaphors for rifle shooting, and the in focus and out of focus aiming through a rifle.
Using pacing and sequence, and different positions of framing to construct a narrative, I translated the riffle shooting into photographic shooting. In the process of taking this roll, I moved foreword and backward towards the projected image I was framing, to isolate the words like a shooter frames an animal in his rife. I had to move in response to a static image, to change the framing of the horizon, and fragment parts in and out of focus. Some of the words were also broken up into isolated letterforms. Consequently, a complete reading of the line of text was deemed import in the transformation of the text in this second iteration of the accordion book. The words attempt line up on the horizon, but still play with the depth of the page. Some recede into the background and some are pushed forwards into immediate foreground.
The complete text, was used on one roll of unedited, uncut color film. The film was then scanned in, and printed on five panels. These panels were sequentially bound into an accordion poster. The roll of film was the container for each iteration. This iteration involved using color in the text and masking the camera two times, to get the background out of focus.
